**اَلْحَمْدُ للَّهِ**
**All praise is due to Allah**
**الَّذى لَيسَ لِقَضآئِهِ دافِعٌ،**
**Who has no deterrent to His decree,**
**وَلا لِعَطائِهِ مانِعٌ،**
**And no one to prevent His gifts,**
**وَلا کصُنْعِهِ صُنْعُ صانِعٍ،**
**And His creation is not like the creation of any creator,**
**وَهُوَ الْجَوادُ الْواسِعُ،**
**And He is the Generous, the Vast,**
**فَطَرَ اَجْناسَ الْبَدائِعِ،**
**He originated the kinds of wonders,**
**واَتْقَنَ بِحِکمَتِهِ الصَّنائِعَ،**
**And perfected the creations with His wisdom,**
**لا تَخْفى عَلَيهِ الطَّلايعُ،**
**The signs do not escape Him,**
**وَلا تَضيعُ عِنْدَهُ الْوَدائِعُ،**
**And the trusts do not get lost with Him,**
**جازى کلِّ صانِعٍ،**
**He rewards every creator,**
**وَرائِشُ کلِّ قانعٍ،**
**And is the sustainer of every contented one,**
**وَراحِمُ کلِّ ضارِعٍ،**
**And the merciful to every supplicant,**
**وَمُنْزِلُ الْمَنافِعِ،**
**And the provider of benefits,**
**وَالْکتابِ الْجامِعِ بِالنُّورِ السَّاطِعِ،**
**And the comprehensive book with the shining light,**
**وَهُوَ لِلدَّعَواتِ سامِعٌ،**
**And He is the Listener to supplications,**
**وَلِلْکرُباتِ دافِعٌ،**
**And the Reliever of calamities,**
**وَلِلدَّرَجاتِ رافِعٌ،**
**And the Exalter of ranks,**
**وَلِلْجَبابِرَةِ قامِعٌ،**
**And the Subduer of the tyrants,**
**فَلا اِلهَ غَيرُهُ**
**So there is no god but Him**
**وَلا شَىْءَ يعْدِلُهُ**
**And nothing is comparable to Him**
**وَلَيسَ کمِثْلِهِ شَىْءٌ،**
**And there is nothing like Him,**
**وَهُوَ السَّميعُ الْبَصيرُ،**
**And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing,**
**اللَّطيفُ الْخَبيرُ،**
**The Subtle, the All-Aware,**
**وَهُوَ عَلى کلِّ شَىْءٍ قَديرٌ،**
**And He is capable of all things.**
**اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّى اَرْغَبُ إِلَيک،**
**O Allah, I turn to You,**
**وَاَشْهَدُ بِالرُّبُوبِيةِ لَک،**
**And I bear witness to Your Lordship,**
**مُقِرّاً بِاَنَّک رَبّى،**
**Acknowledging that You are my Lord,**
**وَ اِلَيک مَرَدّى،**
**And to You is my return,**
**اِبْتَدَاْتَنى بِنِعْمَتِک قَبْلَ اَنْ اَکونَ شَيئاً مَذْکوراً،**
**You began me with Your grace before I was anything mentioned,**
**وَخَلَقْتَنى مِنَ التُّرابِ،**
**And You created me from dust,**
**ثُمَّ اَسْکنْتَنِى الْأَصْلابَ،**
**Then You placed me in the loins,**
**آمِناً لِرَيبِ الْمَنُونِ،**
**Safe from the uncertainty of death,**
**وَاخْتِلافِ الدُّهُورِ وَالسِّنينَ،**
**And the changes of ages and years.**
**فَلَمْ اَزَلْ ظاعِناً مِنْ صُلْبٍ اِلى رَحِمٍ**
**I have continued moving from loins to wombs**
**فى تَقادُمٍ مِنَ الْأَيامِ الْماضِيةِ،**
**In the progression of past days,**
**وَالْقُرُونِ الْخالِيةِ،**
**And the empty centuries,**
**لَمْ تُخْرِجْنى لِرَاْفَتِک بى**
**You did not bring me forth except for Your kindness towards me**
**وَلُطْفِک لى وَاِحْسانِک اِلَىَّ،**
**And Your gentleness and benevolence towards me,**
**فى دَوْلَةِ اَئِمَّةِ الْکفْرِ**
**In the reign of the leaders of disbelief**
**الَّذينَ نَقَضُوا عَهْدَک،**
**Who violated Your covenant,**
**وَکذَّبُوا رُسُلَک،**
**And denied Your messengers,**
**لکنَّک اَخْرَجْتَنى لِلَّذى سَبَقَ لى مِنَ الْهُدَى**
**But You brought me forth for that which You had destined for me from guidance**
**الَّذى لَهُ يسَّرْتَنى،**
**Which You made easy for me,**
**وَفيهِ اَنْشَأْتَنى،**
**And in it You raised me,**
**وَمِنْ قَبْلِ ذلِک رَؤُفْتَ بى**
**And before that, You were compassionate towards me**
**بِجَميلِ صُنْعِک،**
**With Your beautiful creation,**
**وَسَوابِغِ نِعَمِک،**
**And the abundant blessings of Your grace,**
**فابْتَدَعْتَ خَلْقى مِنْ مَنِىٍ يمْنى،**
**So You initiated my creation from a drop of sperm,**
**وَاَسْکنْتَنى فى ظُلُماتٍ ثَلاثٍ**
**And You placed me in three layers of darkness**
**بَينَ لَحْمٍ وَدَمٍ وَجِلْدٍ،**
**Between flesh, blood, and skin,**
**لَمْ تُشْهِدْنى خَلْقى،**
**You did not make me witness my creation,**
**وَلَمْ تَجْعَلْ اِلَىَّ شَيئاً مِنْ اَمْرى،**
**And You did not assign me anything of my affairs,**
**ثُمَّ اَخْرَجْتَنى لِلَّذى سَبَقَ لى مِنَ الْهُدَى**
**Then You brought me forth for that which had been destined for me from guidance**
**اِلَى الدُّنْيا تآمّاً سَوِياً،**
**To the world, in perfect health,**
**وَحَفِظْتَنى فِى الْمَهْدِ طِفْلاً صَبِياً،**
**And You protected me in the cradle as a young child,**
**وَرَزَقْتَنى مِنَ الْغِذآءِ لَبَناً مَرِياً،**
**And You provided me with nourishing milk as food,**
**وَعَطَفْتَ عَلَىَّ قُلُوبَ الْحَواضِنِ،**
**And You inspired the hearts of the nursing mothers towards me,**
**وَکفَّلْتَنى الْأُمَّهاتِ الرَّواحِمَ،**
**And You entrusted me to the merciful mothers,**
**وَکلَأْتَنى مِنْ طَوارِقِ الْجآنِّ،**
**And You safeguarded me from the sudden dangers of the jinn,**
**وَسَلَّمْتَنى مِنَ الزِّيادَةِ وَالنُّقْصانِ،**
**And You kept me safe from excess and deficiency.**
**فَتَعالَيتَ يا رَحيمُ يا رَحْمنُ،**
**So exalted are You, O Merciful, O Most Merciful,**
**حتّى اِذْ اسْتَهْلَلْتُ ناطِقاً بِالْکلامِ،**
**Until when I began to speak,**
**اَتْمَمْتَ عَلَىَّ سَوابغَ الْاِنْعامِ,**
**You completed upon me the abundant blessings,**
**وَرَبَّيتَنى زايداً فى کلِّ عامٍ,**
**And You nurtured me, increasing me every year,**
**حَتّى إذَا اکتَمَلَتْ فِطْرَتى،**
**Until when my nature was complete,**
**وَاعْتَدَلَتْ مِرَّتى،**
**And my temperament was balanced,**
**اَوْجَبْتَ عَلَىَّ حُجَتَّک بِاَنْ اَلْهَمْتَنى مَعْرِفَتَک،**
**You made Your argument obligatory upon me by inspiring me with Your knowledge,**
**وَرَوَّعْتَنى بِعَجائِبِ حِکمَتِک,**
**And You amazed me with the wonders of Your wisdom,**
**وَاَيقَظْتَنى لِما ذَرَاْتَ فى سَمآئِک وَاَرْضِک مِنْ بَدائِعِ خَلْقِک,**
**And You awakened me to what You scattered in Your heavens and Your earth of the wonders of Your creation,**
**وَنَبَّهْتَنى لِشُکرِک وَذِکرِک,**
**And You alerted me to Your gratitude and remembrance,**
**وَاَوجَبْتَ عَلَىَّ طاعَتَک وَعِبادَتَک,**
**And You made obedience and worship of You obligatory upon me,**
**وَفَهَّمْتَنى ما جآءَتْ بِهِ رُسُلُک,**
**And You made me understand what Your messengers brought,**
**وَيسَّرْتَ لى تَقَبُّلَ مَرْضاتِک,**
**And You facilitated for me the acceptance of Your pleasure,**
**وَمَنَنْتَ عَلَىَّ فى جَميعِ ذلِک بِعَونِک وَلُطْفِک,**
**And You bestowed upon me in all of that with Your help and kindness.**
**ثُمَّ اِذْ خَلَقْتَنى مِنْ خَيرِ الثَّرى,**
**Then when You created me from the best of soil,**
**لَمْ تَرْضَ لى يا اِلهى نِعْمَةً دُونَ اُخرى,**
**You did not will for me, O my God, a blessing less than another,**
**وَرَزَقْتَنى مِنْ اَنواعِ الْمَعاشِ,**
**And You provided me with various means of livelihood,**
**وَصُنُوفِ الرِّياشِ,**
**And types of clothing,**
**بِمَنِّک الْعَظيمِ الْأَعْظَمِ عَلَىَّ,**
**By Your great and supreme grace upon me,**
**وَاِحْسانِک الْقَديمِ اِلَىَّ,**
**And Your ancient benevolence towards me,**
**حَتّى اِذا اَتْمَمْتَ عَلَىَّ جَميعَ النِّعَمِ,**
**Until when You completed upon me all blessings,**
**وَصَرَفْتَ عَنّى کلَّ النِّقَمِ,**
**And You diverted from me all calamities,**
**لَمْ يمْنَعْک جَهْلى وَجُرْأَتى عَلَيک,**
**My ignorance and audacity towards You did not prevent You**
**اَنْ دَلَلْتَنى اِلى ما يقَرِّبُنى اِلَيک,**
**From guiding me to that which brings me closer to You,**
**وَوَفَّقْتَنى لِما يزْلِفُنى لَدَيک,**
**And You granted me success in that which draws me near to You.**
**فَاِنْ دَعَوْتُک اَجَبْتَنى,**
**So if I call upon You, You answer me,**
**وَأِنْ سَئَلْتُک اَعْطَيتَنى,**
**And if I ask You, You give me,**
**وَأِنْ اَطَعْتُک شَکرْتَنى,**
**And if I obey You, You thank me,**
**وَأِنْ شَکرْتُک زِدْتَنى,**
**And if I am grateful to You, You increase me.**
**کلُّ ذلِک اِکمالٌ لِأَنْعُمِک عَلَىَّ وَاِحْسانِک اِلَىَّ,**
**All of that is perfection of Your blessings upon me and Your kindness towards me,**
**فَسُبْحانَک سُبْحانَک مِنْ مُبْدِئٍ مُعيدٍ حَميدٍ مَجيدٍ,**
**So glory be to You, glory be to You, O Initiator, Restorer, Praiseworthy, Majestic,**
**تَقَدَّسَتْ اَسْمآؤُک,**
**Your names are sanctified,**
**وَعَظُمَتْ الآؤُک,**
**And Your favors are great,**
**فَأَىَُ نِعَمِک يا اِلهى اُحْصى عَدَداً وَذِکراً,**
**So which of Your favors, O my God, can I enumerate and mention?**
**أَمْ اَىُّ عَطاياک أَقُومُ بِها شُکراً,**
**Or which of Your gifts can I stand to thank You for?**
**وَهِىَ يا رَبِّ اَکثَرُ مِنْ اَنْ يحْصِيهَا الْعآدّوُنَ,**
**And they are, O Lord, more than can be counted by the counters,**
**أَوْ يبْلُغَ عِلْماً بِهَا الْحافِظُونَ,**
**Or can be comprehended by those who preserve them.**
**ثُمَ ما صَرَفْتَ وَدَرَأْتَ عَنّى**
**Then what You have diverted and averted from me**
**اَللَّهُمَّ مِنَ الضُرِّ وَالضَّرَّآءِ,**
**O Allah, from harm and distress,**
**أَکثَرُ مِمَّا ظَهَرَ لى مِنَ الْعَافِيةِ وَالسَّرَّآءِ,**
**Is more than what has appeared to me of health and prosperity,**
**وَأَنَا اَشْهَدُ يا اِلهى بِحَقيقَةِ ايمانى,**
**And I bear witness, O my God, with the truth of my faith,**
**وَعَقْدِ عَزَماتِ يقينى,**
**And the resolution of my certainty,**
**وَخالِصِ صَريحِ تَوْحيدى,**
**And the pure sincerity of my monotheism,**
**وَبَاطِنِ مَکنُونِ ضَميرى,**
**And the hidden depths of my conscience,**
**وَ عَلِمْتُ يَقِيناً غَيْرَ ذِي شَكٍّ**
And I knew with certainty, without doubt,
**أَنَّكَ سَائِلِي مِنْ عَظَائِمِ اَلْأُمُورِ**
That You are the one who will question me about the great matters,
**وَ أَنَّكَ اَلْحَكَمُ [اَلْحَكِيمُ]**
And that You are the Judge [the Wise],
**اَلْعَدْلُ اَلَّذِي لاَ تَجُورُ**
The Just One who does not oppress,
**وَعَدْلُكَ مُهْلِكِي**
And Your justice is my destruction,
**وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَدْلِكَ مَهْرَبِي**
And from all Your justice, my refuge is found.
**فَإِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِي يَا إِلَهِي**
If You punish me, O my God,
**فَبِذُنُوبِي بَعْدَ حُجَّتِكَ عَلَيَّ**
It is because of my sins after Your proof against me.
**وَ إِنْ تَعْفُ عَنِّي**
And if You forgive me,
**فَبِحِلْمِكَ وَ جُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ**
It is by Your forbearance, generosity, and kindness.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلاّٰ أَنْتَ سُبْحٰانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلظّٰالِمِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلاّٰ أَنْتَ سُبْحٰانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who seek forgiveness.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلاّٰ أَنْتَ سُبْحٰانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْمُوَحِّدِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among the monotheists.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْخَائِفِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among the fearful.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْوَجِلِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who tremble in fear.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلرَّاجِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who hope.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلرَّاغِبِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who desire.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْمُهَلِّلِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who glorify You.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلسَّائِلِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who ask.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْمُسَبِّحِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who praise You.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ اَلْمُكَبِّرِينَ**
Indeed, I have been among those who exalt You.
**لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ**
There is no deity but You, Glory be to You,
**رَبِّي وَ رَبُّ آبَائِيَ اَلْأَوَّلِينَ**
My Lord and the Lord of my forefathers.
**اَللَّهُمَّ هَذَا ثَنَائِي عَلَيْكَ**
O Allah, this is my praise of You,
**مُمَجِّداً**
Glorifying,
**وَ إِخْلاَصِي لِذِكْرِكَ**
And my sincerity in remembering You,
**مُوَحِّداً**
Monotheizing,
**وَ إِقْرَارِي بِآلاَئِكَ مُعَدِّداً**
And my acknowledgment of Your blessings, enumerating.
**وَ إِنْ كُنْتُ مُقِرّاً أَنِّي لَمْ أُحْصِهَا لِكَثْرَتِهَا**
And if I admit that I cannot enumerate them due to their abundance,
**وَ سُبُوغِهَا وَ تَظَاهُرِهَا**
And their overwhelming nature and manifestation,
**وَ تَقَادُمِهَا إِلَى حَادِثٍ مَا**
And their continuity until some event,
**لَمْ تَزَلْ تَتَعَهَّدُنِي [تَتَغَمَّدُنِي] بِهِ**
You have continually taken care of me [enveloped me] with it
**مَعَهَا مُنْذُ خَلَقْتَنِي**
Since You created me,
**وَ بَرَأْتَنِي مِنْ أَوَّلِ اَلْعُمُرِ**
And fashioned me from the beginning of my life,
**مِنَ اَلْإِغْنَاءِ مِنَ [بَعْدَ] اَلْفَقْرِ**
From being enriched [after] poverty,
**وَ كَشْفِ اَلضُّرِّ**
And removing distress,
**وَ تَسْبِيبِ اَلْيُسْرِ**
And causing ease,
**وَ دَفْعِ اَلْعُسْرِ**
And alleviating hardship,
**وَ تَفْرِيجِ اَلْكَرْبِ**
And relieving anguish,
**وَ اَلْعَافِيَةِ فِي اَلْبَدَنِ**
And granting health in the body,
**وَ اَلسَّلاَمَةِ فِي اَلدِّينِ**
And safety in religion.
**وَلَوْ رَفَدَنِي عَلَى قَدْرِ ذِكْرِ نِعْمَتِكَ**
And if all the worlds of the past and the future were to aid me in proportion to the mention of Your blessings,
**جَمِيعُ اَلْعَالَمِينَ مِنَ اَلْأَوَّلِينَ وَ اَلْآخِرِينَ**
All the worlds of the past and the future,
**مَا قَدَرْتُ وَ لاَ هُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ**
I could not, nor could they,
**تَقَدَّسْتَ وَ تَعَالَيْتَ**
You are exalted and elevated,
**مِنْ رَبٍّ كَرِيمٍ عَظِيمٍ رَحِيمٍ**
From a Lord who is Generous, Great, and Merciful.
**لاَ تُحْصَى آلاَؤُكَ**
Your blessings cannot be counted,
**وَ لاَ يُبْلَغُ ثَنَاؤُكَ**
And Your praise cannot be reached,
**وَ لاَ تُكَافَى نَعْمَاؤُكَ**
And Your favors cannot be repaid.
**صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ**
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
**وَ أَتْمِمْ عَلَيْنَا نِعَمَكَ**
And complete Your blessings upon us,
**وَ أَسْعِدْنَا بِطَاعَتِكَ**
And make us happy through Your obedience.
**سُبْحَانَكَ لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ**
Glory be to You, there is no deity except You.
**اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تُجِيبُ اَلْمُضْطَرَّ**
O Allah, indeed You answer the distressed,
**وَ تَكْشِفُ اَلسُّوءَ**
And remove harm,
**وَ تُغِيثُ اَلْمَكْرُوبَ**
And relieve the troubled,
**وَ تَشْفِي اَلسَّقِيمَ**
And heal the sick,
**وَ تُغْنِي اَلْفَقِيرَ**
And enrich the poor,
**وَ تَجْبُرُ اَلْكَسِيرَ**
And mend the broken,
**وَ تَرْحَمُ اَلصَّغِيرَ**
And have mercy on the young,
**وَ تُعِينُ اَلْكَبِيرَ**
And assist the elderly.
**وَلَيْسَ دُونَكَ ظَهِيرٌ**
And there is no helper besides You,
**وَ لاَ فَوْقَكَ قَدِيرٌ**
And no one above You is capable.
**وَ أَنْتَ اَلْعَلِيُّ اَلْكَبِيرُ**
And You are the Most High, the Great.
**يَا مُطْلِقَ اَلْمُكَبَّلِ اَلْأَسِيرِ**
O You who frees the bound captive,
**يَا رَازِقَ اَلطِّفْلِ اَلصَّغِيرِ**
O You who provides for the small child,
**يَا عِصْمَةَ اَلْخَائِفِ اَلْمُسْتَجِيرِ**
O You who is the refuge of the fearful and the seeking,
**يَا مَنْ لاٰ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَ لاَ وَزِيرَ**
O You who has no partner and no minister.
**صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ**
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
**وَ أَعْطِنِي فِي هَذِهِ اَلْعَشِيَّةِ**
And grant me in this evening,
**أَفْضَلَ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ**
The best of what You have given,
**وَ أَنَلْتَ أَحَداً مِنْ عِبَادِكَ**
And bestowed upon any of Your servants,
**مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُولِيهَا**
Of a blessing that You grant,
**وَ آلاَءٍ تُجَدِّدُهَا**
And a favor that You renew,
**وَ بَلِيَّةٍ تَصْرِفُهَا**
And a trial that You remove,
**وَ كُرْبَةٍ تَكْشِفُهَا**
And a calamity that You alleviate,
**وَ دَعْوَةٍ تَسْمَعُهَا**
And a supplication that You hear,
**وَ حَسَنَةٍ تَتَقَبَّلُهَا**
And a good deed that You accept,
**وَ سَيِّئَةٍ تَتَغَمَّدُهَا**
And a sin that You overlook.
**إِنَّكَ لَطِيفٌ بِمَا تَشَاءُ**
Indeed, You are Gentle in whatever You will,
**خَبِيرٌ وَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ**
All-Aware and capable of all things.
**اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَقْرَبُ مَنْ دُعِيَ**
O Allah, indeed You are the closest to whom is called,
**وَ أَسْرَعُ مَنْ أَجَابَ**
And the quickest to respond,
**وَ أَكْرَمُ مَنْ عَفَا**
And the most generous in forgiving,
**وَ أَوْسَعُ مَنْ أَعْطَى**
And the most abundant in giving,
**وَ أَسْمَعُ مَنْ سُئِلَ**
And the most hearing of those who are asked.
**يَا رَحْمَانَ اَلْدُّنْيَا وَ اَلْآخِرَةِ**
O Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter,
**وَ رَحِيمَهُمَا**
And Most Merciful of both,
**لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِكَ مَسْئُولٌ**
There is none like You to be asked,
**وَ لاَ سِوَاكَ مَأْمُولٌ**
And none besides You to be hoped for.
**دَعَوْتُكَ فَأَجَبْتَنِي**
I called upon You, and You answered me,
**وَ سَأَلْتُكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَنِي**
And I asked You, and You granted me,
**وَ رَغِبْتُ إِلَيْكَ فَرَحِمْتَنِي**
And I turned to You, and You had mercy on me,
**وَ وَثِقْتُ بِكَ فَنَجَّيْتَنِي**
And I trusted in You, and You saved me,
**وَ فَزِعْتُ إِلَيْكَ فَكَفَيْتَنِي**
And I fled to You, and You sufficed me.
**اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ**
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad,
**عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ وَ نَبِيِّكَ**
Your servant, Your Messenger, and Your Prophet,
**وَ عَلَى آلِهِ اَلطَّيِّبِينَ اَلطَّاهِرِينَ أَجْمَعِينَ**
And upon his pure and righteous family altogether.
**وَ تَمِّمْ لَنَا نِعَمَاءَكَ**
And complete for us Your blessings,
**وَ هَنِّئْنَا عَطَاءَكَ**
And make us rejoice in Your gifts,
**وَ اُكْتُبْنَا لَكَ شَاكِرِينَ**
And write us down as grateful to You,
**وَ لِآلاَئِكَ ذَاكِرِينَ**
And as those who remember Your favors.
**آمِينَ آمِينَ رَبَّ اَلْعَالَمِينَ**
Ameen, Ameen, Lord of the worlds.
اَللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ مَلَكَ فَقَدَرَ
**O Allah, O You who has dominion and power,**
و قَدَرَ فَقَهَرَ
**and power that overcomes,**
و عُصِىَ فَسَتَرَ
**and when disobeyed, You covered (their faults),**
و اُسْتُغْفِرَ فَغَفَرَ
**and when asked for forgiveness, You forgave.**
يَا غَايَةَ اَلطَّالِبِينَ اَلرَّاغِبِينَ
**O You who are the ultimate goal of those seeking and desiring,**
و مُنْتَهَى أَمَلِ اَلرَّاجِينَ
**and the end of the hopes of those who hope,**
يَا مَنْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْماً
**O You who encompasses all things with knowledge,**
و وَسِعَ اَلْمُسْتَقِيلِينَ رَأْفَةً وَ رَحْمَةً وَ حِلْماً
**and extends mercy and compassion to those who seek refuge,**
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ فِي هَذِهِ اَلْعَشِيَّةِ
**O Allah, indeed we turn to You in this evening,**
اَلَّتِي شَرَّفْتَهَا وَ عَظَّمْتَهَا بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ
**which You have honored and magnified with Muhammad, Your Prophet and Messenger,**
و خِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
**and Your chosen one from Your creation,**
و أَمِينِكَ عَلَى وَحْيِكَ
**and Your trustworthy one regarding Your revelation,**
اَلْبَشِيرِ اَلنَّذِيرِ
**the bearer of good news, the warner,**
اَلسِّرَاجِ اَلْمُنِيرِ
**the illuminating lamp,**
اَلَّذِي أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَى اَلْمُسْلِمِينَ
**whom You have blessed upon the Muslims,**
و جَعَلْتَهُ رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ
**and made him a mercy for the worlds.**
اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
**O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,**
كَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ أَهْلٌ لِذَلِكَ مِنْكَ
**as Muhammad is worthy of that from You,**
يَا عَظِيمُ
**O Most Great.**
فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَى آلِهِ
**So send blessings upon him and upon his chosen, pure family,**
اَلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ اَلطَّيِّبِينَ اَلطَّاهِرِينَ أَجْمَعِينَ
**all of them, the chosen, the good, the pure.**
و تَغَمَّدْنَا بِعَفْوِكَ عَنَّا
**And envelop us with Your pardon,**
فَإِلَيْكَ عَجَّتِ اَلْأَصْوَاتُ بِصُنُوفِ اَللُّغَاتِ
**for to You the voices have raised in various languages,**
فَاجْعَلْ لَنَا اَللَّهُمَّ فِي هَذِهِ اَلْعَشِيَّةِ نَصِيباً
**so grant us, O Allah, in this evening a share of every good You distribute among Your servants,**
مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ تَقْسِمُهُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ
**of all the good that You divide among Your servants,**
و نُورٍ تَهْدِي بِهِ
**and light by which You guide,**
و رَحْمَةٍ تَنْشُرُهَا
**and mercy that You spread,**
و بَرَكَةٍ تُنْزِلُهَا
**and blessings that You send down,**
و عَافِيَةٍ تُجَلِّلُهَا
**and wellness that You bestow,**
و رِزْقٍ تَبْسُطُهُ
**and sustenance that You extend.**
يَا أَرْحَمَ اَلرَّاحِمِينَ
**O Most Merciful of the merciful,**
اَللَّهُمَّ أَقْلِبْنَا فِي هَذَا اَلْوَقْتِ
**O Allah, make us in this time,**
مُنْجِحِينَ مُفْلِحِينَ مَبْرُورِينَ غَانِمِينَ
**successful, prosperous, accepted, and fortunate.**
و لاَ تَجْعَلْنَا مِنَ اَلْقَانِطِينَ
**And do not make us among the despairing,**
و لاَ تُخْلِنَا مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
**and do not deprive us of Your mercy,**
و لاَ تَحْرِمْنَا مَا نُؤَمِّلُهُ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
**and do not withhold from us what we hope for from Your grace,**
و لاَ تَجْعَلْنَا مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ مَحْرُومِينَ
**and do not make us deprived of Your mercy.**
و لاَ لِفَضْلِ مَا نُؤَمِّلُهُ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ قَانِطِينَ
**And do not let us despair of the favors we hope for from Your gifts,**
و لاَ تَرُدَّنَا خَائِبِينَ
**and do not return us disappointed,**
و لاَ مِنْ بَابِكَ مَطْرُودِينَ
**and do not cast us out from Your door.**
يَا أَجْوَدَ اَلْأَجْوَدِينَ
**O Most Generous of the generous,**
و أَكْرَمَ اَلْأَكْرَمِينَ
**and Most Honorable of the honorable.**
إِلَيْكَ أَقْبَلْنَا مُوقِنِينَ
**To You we have come, certain,**
و لِبَيْتِكَ اَلْحَرَامِ آمِّينَ قَاصِدِينَ
**and to Your Sacred House, seeking refuge, intending.**
فَأَعِنَّا عَلَى مَنَاسِكِنَا
**So assist us in our rites,**
و أَكْمِلْ لَنَا حَجَّنَا
**and complete for us our pilgrimage,**
و اُعْفُ عَنَّا
**and pardon us,**
و عَافِنَا
**and grant us wellness.**
فَقَدْ مَدَدْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَيْدِيَنَا
**Indeed, we have extended our hands to You,**
فَهِيَ بِذِلَّةِ اَلاِعْتِرَافِ مَوْسُومَةٌ
**and they are marked with humility of acknowledgment.**
اَللَّهُمَّ فَأَعْطِنَا فِي هَذِهِ اَلْعَشِيَّةِ مَا سَأَلْنَاكَ
**O Allah, grant us in this evening what we have asked You,**
و اِكْفِنَا مَا اِسْتَكْفَيْنَاكَ
**and suffice us with what we have sought from You,**
فَلاَ كَافِيَ لَنَا سِوَاكَ
**for there is no sufficiency for us except You,**
و لاَ رَبَّ لَنَا غَيْرُكَ
**and there is no Lord for us other than You.**
نَافِذٌ فِينَا حُكْمُكَ
**Your decree is enforced upon us,**
مُحِيطٌ بِنَا عِلْمُكَ
**Your knowledge encompasses us,**
عَدْلٌ فِينَا قَضَاؤُكَ
**Your judgment is just upon us.**
اِقْضِ لَنَا اَلْخَيْرَ
**Grant us good,**
و اِجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ اَلْخَيْرِ
**and make us among the people of goodness.**
اَللَّهُمَّ أَوْجِبْ لَنَا بِجُودِكَ عَظِيمَ اَلْأَجْرِ
**O Allah, grant us through Your generosity great reward,**
و كَرِيمَ اَلذُّخْرِ
**and honorable provision,**
و دَوَامَ اَلْيُسْرِ
**and lasting ease,**
و اِغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا أَجْمَعِينَ
**and forgive all our sins,**
و لاَ تُهْلِكْنَا مَعَ اَلْهَالِكِينَ
**and do not destroy us with those who are destroyed,**
و لاَ تَصْرِفْ عَنَّا رَأْفَتَكَ وَ رَحْمَتَكَ
**and do not turn away Your mercy and compassion from us,**
يَا أَرْحَمَ اَلرَّاحِمِينَ
**O Most Merciful of the merciful.**
اَللَّهُمَّ اِجْعَلْنَا فِي هَذَا اَلْوَقْتِ مِمَّنْ سَأَلَكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَهُ
**O Allah, make us in this time among those who ask You and You give them,**
و شَكَرَكَ فَزِدْتَهُ
**and who thank You and You increase them,**
و تَابَ [ثَابَ] إِلَيْكَ فَقَبِلْتَهُ
**and who repent to You and You accept them,**
و تَنَصَّلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كُلِّهَا فَغَفَرْتَهَا لَهُ
**and who turn to You from all their sins and You forgive them.**
يَا ذَا اَلْجَلاٰلِ وَ اَلْإِكْرٰامِ
**O Possessor of Glory and Honor,**
اَللَّهُمَّ وَ نَقِّنَا [وَ وَفِّقْنَا]
**O Allah, and purify us [and guide us],**
و سَدِّدْنَا [وَ اِعْصِمْنَا]
**and make us steadfast [and protect us],**
و اِقْبَلْ تَضَرُّعَنَا
**and accept our supplication,**
يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ
**O Best of those who are asked,**
و يَا أَرْحَمَ مَنِ اُسْتُرْحِمَ
**and O Most Merciful of those who are appealed to.**
يَا مَنْ لاَ يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ إِغْمَاضُ اَلْجُفُونِ
**O You who is not unaware of the closing of eyelids,**
و لاَ لَحْظُ اَلْعُيُونِ
**nor the glances of the eyes,**
و لاَ مَا اِسْتَقَرَّ فِي اَلْمَكْنُونِ
**nor what is hidden in the secrets,**
و لاَ مَا اِنْطَوَتْ عَلَيْهِ مُضْمَرَاتُ اَلْقُلُوبِ
**nor what the hearts conceal,**
أَلاَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ قَدْ أَحْصَاهُ عِلْمُكَ
**Indeed, all of that is encompassed by Your knowledge,**
و وَسِعَهُ حِلْمُكَ
**and Your forbearance encompasses it.**
سُبْحَانَكَ وَ تَعَالَيْتَ عَمَّا يَقُولُ اَلظَّالِمُونَ
**Glory be to You, and exalted are You above what the wrongdoers say,**
عُلُوًّا كَبِيراً
**with great exaltation.**
تُسَبِّحُ لَكَ اَلسَّمَاوَاتُ اَلسَّبْعُ
**The seven heavens glorify You,**
و اَلْأَرَضُونَ وَ مَنْ فِيهِنَّ
**and the earths and all who are in them.**
و إِنْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلاّٰ يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ
**And there is nothing except that it glorifies You with praise.**
فَلَكَ اَلْحَمْدُ وَ اَلْمَجْدُ
**To You belongs all praise and glory,**
و عُلُوُّ اَلْجَدِّ
**and the exaltation of majesty,**
يَا ذَا اَلْجَلاٰلِ وَ اَلْإِكْرٰامِ
**O Possessor of Glory and Honor,**
و اَلْفَضْلِ وَ اَلْإِنْعَامِ
**and of grace and blessings,**
و اَلْأَيَادِي اَلْجِسَامِ
**and of great bounties.**
و أَنْتَ اَلْجَوَادُ اَلْكَرِيمُ
**And You are the Generous, the Honorable,**
اَلرَّءُوفُ اَلرَّحِيمُ
**the Compassionate, the Merciful.**
اَللَّهُمَّ أَوْسِعْ عَلَيَّ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ اَلْحَلاَلِ
**O Allah, expand for me from Your lawful provision,**
و عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي وَ دِينِي
**and grant me wellness in my body and my faith,**
و آمِنْ خَوْفِي
**and secure my fears,**
و أَعْتِقْ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ اَلنَّارِ
**and free my neck from the Fire.**
اَللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَمْكُرْ بِي
**O Allah, do not plot against me,**
و لاَ تَسْتَدْرِجْنِي
**and do not lead me into temptation,**
و لاَ تَخْدَعْنِي
**and do not deceive me,**
و اِدْرَأْ عَنِّي شَرَّ فَسَقَةِ اَلْجِنِّ وَ اَلْإِنْسِ
**and avert from me the evil of the wicked among the jinn and mankind.**

پس سر و ديدۀ خود را به سوى آسمان بلند كرد
**Then he raised his head and gaze towards the sky**
و از ديدههاى مباركش آب مىريخت مانند دو مشك
**And tears flowed from his blessed eyes like two water bags**
و به صداى بلند گفت
**And he said loudly**
يَا أَسْمَعَ اَلسَّامِعِينَ
**O Hearer of the Hearers**
يَا أَبْصَرَ اَلنَّاظِرِينَ
**O Seer of the Seers**
و يَا أَسْرَعَ اَلْحَاسِبِينَ
**And O Swiftest of the Reckoners**
و يَا أَرْحَمَ اَلرَّاحِمِينَ
**And O Most Merciful of the Merciful**
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَلسَّادَةِ اَلْمَيَامِينِ
**Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the noble leaders**
و أَسْأَلُكَ اَللَّهُمَّ حَاجَتِيَ اَلَّتِي
**And I ask You, O Allah, for my need, which**
إِنْ أَعْطَيْتَنِيهَا لَمْ يَضُرَّنِي مَا مَنَعْتَنِي
**If You grant it to me, it will not harm me what You have withheld from me**
و إِنْ مَنَعْتَنِيهَا لَمْ يَنْفَعْنِي مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي
**And if You withhold it from me, what You have given me will not benefit me**
أَسْأَلُكَ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ اَلنَّارِ
**I ask You for the liberation of my neck from the Fire**
لاٰ إِلٰهَ إِلاّٰ أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ
**There is no deity except You, alone**
لاٰ شَرِيكَ لَكَ
**You have no partner**
لَكَ اَلْمُلْكُ وَ لَكَ اَلْحَمْدُ
**To You belongs the dominion and to You belongs all praise**
و أَنْتَ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
**And You are capable of all things**
يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ
**O Lord, O Lord**
پس مكرر مىگفت يا رب
**Then he repeatedly said, O Lord**
و كسانى كه دور آن حضرت بودند تمام گوش داده بودند به دعاى آن حضرت
**And those who were around him listened attentively to his supplication**
و اكتفا كرده بودند به آمين گفتن
**And they were content to say Amen**
پس صداهايشان بلند شد به گريستن با آن حضرت
**Then their voices rose in weeping with him**
تا غروب كرد آفتاب
**Until the sun set**
و بار كردند و روانۀ جانب مشعر الحرام شدند
**And they packed up and set off towards Mash'ar al-Haram**
مؤلف گويد كه كفعمى دعاى عرفه امام حسين عليه السلام را در بلد الامين تا اينجا نقل فرموده
**The author states that Kaf'ami has narrated the supplication of Arafah of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Balad al-Amin up to this point**
و علامه مجلسى در زاد المعاد اين دعاى شريف را موافق روايت كفعمى ايراد نموده
**And Allameh Majlisi in Zad al-Ma'ad has presented this noble supplication according to Kaf'ami's narration**
و لكن سيد بن طاوس در اقبال بعد از يا رب يا رب يا رب اين زيادتى را ذكر فرموده
**However, Sayyid Ibn Tawus in Iqbal has mentioned this addition after O Lord, O Lord, O Lord**
إِلَهِي أَنَا اَلْفَقِيرُ فِي غِنَايَ
**O my God, I am the poor one in my wealth**
فَكَيْفَ لاَ أَكُونُ فَقِيراً فِي فَقْرِي
**So how can I not be poor in my poverty?**
إِلَهِي أَنَا اَلْجَاهِلُ فِي عِلْمِي
**O my God, I am ignorant in my knowledge**
فَكَيْفَ لاَ أَكُونُ جَهُولاً فِي جَهْلِي
**So how can I not be ignorant in my ignorance?**
إِلَهِي إِنَّ اِخْتِلاَفَ تَدْبِيرِكَ
**O my God, indeed the difference in Your planning**
و سُرْعَةَ طَوَاءِ مَقَادِيرِكَ
**And the swiftness of the unfolding of Your decrees**
مَنَعَا عِبَادَكَ اَلْعَارِفِينَ بِكَ عَنِ اَلسُّكُونِ إِلَى عَطَاءٍ
**Has prevented Your knowing servants from being at peace with Your grace**
و اَلْيَأْسِ مِنْكَ فِي بَلاَءٍ
**And despairing of You in affliction**
إِلَهِي مِنِّي مَا يَلِيقُ بِلُؤْمِي
**O my God, from me is what befits my disgrace**
و مِنْكَ مَا يَلِيقُ بِكَرَمِكَ
**And from You is what befits Your generosity**
إِلَهِي وَصَفْتَ نَفْسَكَ بِاللُّطْفِ وَ اَلرَّأْفَةِ
**O my God, You have described Yourself with kindness and compassion**
لِي قَبْلَ وُجُودِ ضَعْفِي
**To me before the existence of my weakness**
أَ فَتَمْنَعُنِي مِنْهُمَا بَعْدَ وُجُودِ ضَعْفِي
**Will You then withhold these from me after my weakness has manifested?**
إِلَهِي إِنْ ظَهَرَتِ اَلْمَحَاسِنُ مِنِّي فَبِفَضْلِكَ
**O my God, if my virtues appear, it is by Your grace**
و لَكَ اَلْمِنَّةُ عَلَيَّ
**And the favor is Yours upon me**
و إِنْ ظَهَرَتِ اَلْمَسَاوِي مِنِّي فَبِعَدْلِكَ
**And if my faults appear, it is by Your justice**
و لَكَ اَلْحُجَّةُ عَلَيَّ
**And the proof is Yours against me**
إِلَهِى كَيْفَ تَكِلُنِي وَ قَدْ تَكَفَّلْتَ لِي
**O my God, how can You abandon me when You have taken care of me?**
[تَوَكَّلْتُ]
**[I have relied upon You]**
و كَيْفَ أُضَامُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلنَّاصِرُ لِي
**And how can I be oppressed when You are my helper?**
أَمْ كَيْفَ أَخِيبُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلْحَفِيُّ بِي
**Or how can I fail when You are so generous to me?**
هَا أَنَا أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ بِفَقْرِي إِلَيْكَ
**Here I am, I seek intercession with You through my poverty to You**
و كَيْفَ أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ بِمَا هُوَ مَحَالٌ أَنْ يَصِلَ إِلَيْكَ
**And how can I seek intercession with You through what cannot possibly reach You?**
أَمْ كَيْفَ أَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ حَالِي
**Or how can I complain to You about my state**
و هُوَ لاَ يَخْفَى عَلَيْكَ
**When it is not hidden from You?**
أَمْ كَيْفَ أُتَرْجِمُ بِمَقَالِي
**Or how can I express my words**
و هُوَ مِنْكَ بَرَزٌ إِلَيْكَ
**When it has emerged from me towards You?**
أَمْ كَيْفَ تُخَيِّبُ آمَالِي
**Or how can You disappoint my hopes**
و هِيَ قَدْ وَفَدَتْ إِلَيْكَ
**When they have come to You?**
أَمْ كَيْفَ لاَ تُحْسِنُ أَحْوَالِي
**Or how can You not improve my conditions**
و بِكَ قَامَتْ
**And with You they have stood?**
إِلَهِي مَا أَلْطَفَكَ بِي مَعَ عَظِيمِ جَهْلِي
**O my God, how kind You are to me despite my great ignorance**
و مَا أَرْحَمَكَ بِي مَعَ قَبِيحِ فِعْلِي
**And how merciful You are to me despite my ugly deeds**
إِلَهِي مَا أَقْرَبَكَ مِنِّي
**O my God, how close You are to me**
و أَبْعَدَنِي عَنْكَ
**And how far I am from You**
و مَا أَرْأَفَكَ بِي
**And how compassionate You are towards me**
فَمَا اَلَّذِي يَحْجُبُنِي عَنْكَ:
**So what is it that prevents me from You?**
إِلَهِي عَلِمْتُ بِاخْتِلاَفِ اَلْآثَارِ
**O my God, I have understood through the differences in the effects**
و تَنَقُّلاَتِ اَلْأَطْوَارِ
**And the transitions of the states**
أَنَّ مُرَادَكَ مِنِّي
**That Your intention for me**
أَنْ تَتَعَرَّفَ إِلَيَّ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
**Is that You become known to me in everything**
حَتَّى لاَ أَجْهَلَكَ فِي شَيْءٍ
**So that I do not remain ignorant of You in anything**
إِلَهِي كُلَّمَا أَخْرَسَنِي لُؤْمِي
**O my God, whenever my disgrace silences me**
أَنْطَقَنِي كَرَمُكَ
**Your generosity speaks for me**
و كُلَّمَا آيَسَتْنِي أَوْصَافِي
**And whenever my attributes bring me despair**
أَطْمَعَتْنِي مِنَنُكَ
**Your blessings instill hope in me**
إِلَهِي مَنْ كَانَتْ مَحَاسِنُهُ مَسَاوِيَ
**O my God, whoever's virtues are equal to their faults**
فَكَيْفَ لاَ تَكُونُ مَسَاوِيهِ مَسَاوِيَ
**How can their faults not be equal?**
و مَنْ كَانَتْ حَقَائِقُهُ دَعَاوِيَ
**And whoever's realities are claims**
فَكَيْفَ لاَ تَكُونُ دَعَاوِيهِ دَعَاوِيَ
**How can their claims not be claims?**
إِلَهِي حُكْمُكَ اَلنَّافِذُ
**O my God, Your decree is decisive**
و مَشِيَّتُكَ اَلْقَاهِرَةُ
**And Your will is overpowering**
لَمْ يَتْرُكَا لِذِي مَقَالٍ مَقَالاً
**It has left no one with a statement**
و لاَ لِذِي حَالٍ حَالاً
**And no one with a condition**
إِلَهِي كَمْ مِنْ طَاعَةٍ بَنَيْتُهَا
**O my God, how many acts of obedience I have built**
و حَالَةٍ شَيَّدْتُهَا
**And how many states I have established**
هَدَمَ اِعْتِمَادِي عَلَيْهَا عَدْلُكَ
**Your justice has demolished my reliance upon them**
بَلْ أَقَالَنِي مِنْهَا فَضْلُكَ
**Rather, Your grace has released me from them**
إِلَهِي إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي
**O my God, indeed You know that I**
و إِنْ لَمْ تَدُمِ اَلطَّاعَةُ مِنِّي فِعْلاً جَزْماً
**And if my obedience does not persist in action certainly**
فَقَدْ دَامَتْ مَحَبَّةً وَ عَزْماً
**Then my love and resolve have certainly persisted**
إِلَهِي كَيْفَ أَعْزِمُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلْقَاهِرُ
**O my God, how can I be determined when You are the Overpowering?**
و كَيْفَ لاَ أَعْزِمُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلْآمِرُ
**And how can I not be determined when You are the Commander?**
إِلَهِي تَرَدُّدِي فِي اَلْآثَارِ
**O my God, my hesitation in the effects**
يُوجِبُ بُعْدَ اَلْمَزَارِ
**Requires distance from the visitation**
فَاجْمَعْنِي عَلَيْكَ بِخِدْمَةٍ تُوصِلُنِي إِلَيْكَ
**So gather me to You with a service that brings me to You**
كَيْفَ يُسْتَدَلُّ عَلَيْكَ بِمَا هُوَ فِي وُجُودِهِ مُفْتِقِرٌ إِلَيْكَ
**How can one find You through that which, in its existence, is in need of You?**
أَ يَكُونُ لِغَيْرِكَ مِنَ اَلظُّهُورِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ
**Can there be for anyone besides You a manifestation that is not Yours?**
حَتَّى يَكُونَ هُوَ اَلْمُظْهِرَ لَكَ
**Until it becomes the one that manifests You?**
مَتَى غِبْتَ حَتَّى تَحْتَاجَ إِلَى دَلِيلٍ يَدُلُّ عَلَيْكَ
**When have You been absent that You need a proof to guide to You?**
و مَتَى بَعُدْتَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ اَلْآثَارُ
**And when have You been distant that the effects**
هِيَ اَلَّتِي تُوصِلُ إِلَيْكَ
**Are the ones that lead to You?**
عَمِيَتْ عَيْنٌ لاَ تَرَاكَ عَلَيْهَا رَقِيباً
**A blind eye has failed to see You as a watcher over it**
و خَسِرَتْ صَفْقَةُ عَبْدٍ
**And the bargain of a servant has failed**
لَمْ تَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ حُبِّكَ نَصِيباً
**Who has not been granted a share of Your love**
إِلَهِي أَمَرْتَ بِالرُّجُوعِ إِلَى اَلْآثَارِ
**O my God, You commanded to return to the effects**
فَأَرْجِعْنِي إِلَيْكَ بِكِسْوَةِ اَلْأَنْوَارِ
**So return me to You with the garments of lights**
و هِدَايَةِ اَلاِسْتِبْصَارِ
**And the guidance of insight**
حَتَّى أَرْجِعَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهَا كَمَا دَخَلْتُ إِلَيْكَ
**So that I may return to You from it as I entered You**
مَصُونَ اَلسِّرِّ عَنِ اَلنَّظَرِ إِلَيْهَا
**Guarded from the gaze upon it**
و مَرْفُوعَ اَلْهِمَّةِ عَنِ اَلاِعْتِمَادِ عَلَيْهَا
**And elevated in aspiration above reliance upon it**
إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
**Indeed, You are capable of all things**
إِلَهِي هَذَا ذُلِّي ظَاهِرٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
**O my God, this is my evident humiliation before You**
و هَذَا حَالِي لاَ يَخْفَى عَلَيْكَ
**And this is my state which is not hidden from You**
**مِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ اَلْوُصُولَ إِلَيْكَ**
From You, I ask to reach You
**و بِكَ أَسْتَدِلُّ عَلَيْكَ**
And through You, I seek guidance to You
**فَاهْدِنِي بِنُورِكَ إِلَيْكَ**
So guide me with Your light to You
**و أَقِمْنِي بِصِدْقِ اَلْعُبُودِيَّةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ**
And establish me with the sincerity of servitude before You
**إِلَهِي عَلِّمْنِي مِنْ عِلْمِكَ اَلْمَخْزُونِ**
O my God, teach me from Your hidden knowledge
**و صُنِّي بِسِتْرِكَ اَلْمَصُونِ**
And protect me with Your sacred veil
**إِلَهِي حَقِّقْنِي بِحَقَائِقِ أَهْلِ اَلْقُرْبِ**
O my God, realize me with the truths of the people of closeness
**و اُسْلُكْ بِي مَسْلَكَ أَهْلِ اَلْجَذْبِ**
And guide me on the path of the people of attraction
**إِلَهِي أَغْنِنِي بِتَدْبِيرِكَ لِي عَنْ تَدْبِيرِي**
O my God, enrich me with Your management over me instead of my own
**و بِاخْتِيَارِكَ عَنِ اِخْتِيَارِي**
And by Your choice over my choice
**و أَوْقِفْنِي عَلَى مَرَاكِزِ اِضْطِرَارِي**
And place me at the centers of my necessity
**إِلَهِي أَخْرِجْنِي مِنْ ذُلِّ نَفْسِي**
O my God, take me out from the humiliation of my soul
**و طَهِّرْنِي مِنْ شَكِّي وَ شِرْكِي**
And cleanse me from my doubt and my polytheism
**قَبْلَ حُلُولِ رَمْسِي**
Before the arrival of my grave
**بِكَ أَنْتَصِرُ فَانْصُرْنِي**
With You, I seek victory, so grant me victory
**و عَلَيْكَ أَتَوَكَّلُ فَلاَ تَكِلْنِي**
And upon You, I rely, so do not leave me
**و إِيَّاكَ أَسْأَلُ فَلاَ تُخَيِّبْنِي**
And You alone do I ask, so do not disappoint me
**و فِي فَضْلِكَ أَرْغَبُ فَلاَ تَحْرِمْنِي**
And in Your grace, I desire, so do not deprive me
**و بِجَنَابِكَ أَنْتَسِبُ فَلاَ تُبْعِدْنِي**
And by Your side, I belong, so do not distance me
**و بِبَابِكَ أَقِفُ فَلاَ تَطْرُدْنِي**
And at Your door, I stand, so do not expel me
**إِلَهِي تَقَدَّسَ رِضَاكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ عِلَّةٌ مِنْكَ**
O my God, Your pleasure is too sacred to have a cause from You
**فَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ لَهُ عِلَّةٌ مِنِّي**
So how can it have a cause from me?
**إِلَهِي أَنْتَ اَلْغَنِيُّ بِذَاتِكَ**
O my God, You are self-sufficient by Your essence
**أَنْ يَصِلَ إِلَيْكَ اَلنَّفْعُ مِنْكَ**
That benefit should reach You from me
**فَكَيْفَ لاَ تَكُونُ غَنِيّاً عَنِّي**
So how can You not be self-sufficient from me?
**إِلَهِي إِنَّ اَلْقَضَاءَ وَ اَلْقَدَرَ يُمَنِّينِي**
O my God, indeed, destiny and decree give me hope
**و إِنَّ اَلْهَوَى بِوَثَائِقِ اَلشَّهْوَةِ أَسَرَنِي**
And indeed, passion, with the bonds of desire, has captured me
**فَكُنْ أَنْتَ اَلنَّصِيرَ لِي حَتَّى تَنْصُرَنِي**
So be my supporter until You grant me victory
**و تُبَصِّرَنِي**
And make me see clearly
**و أَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ حَتَّى أَسْتَغْنِيَ بِكَ عَنْ طَلَبِي**
And enrich me with Your grace until I rely on You instead of my requests
**أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي أَشْرَقْتَ اَلْأَنْوَارَ فِي قُلُوبِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ**
You are the one who illuminated the lights in the hearts of Your friends
**حَتَّى عَرَفُوكَ وَ وَحَّدُوكَ**
Until they recognized You and unified You
**و أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي أَزَلْتَ اَلْأَغْيَارَ عَنْ قُلُوبِ أَحِبَّائِكَ**
And You are the one who removed the distractions from the hearts of Your beloved ones
**حَتَّى لَمْ يُحِبُّوا سِوَاكَ**
Until they loved none but You
**و لَمْ يَلْجَئُوا إِلَى غَيْرِكَ**
And they did not resort to anyone but You
**أَنْتَ اَلْمُونِسُ لَهُمْ حَيْثُ أَوْحَشَتْهُمُ اَلْعَوَالِمُ**
You are their comfort when the worlds have made them feel lonely
**و أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي هَدَيْتَهُمْ حَيْثُ اِسْتَبَانَتْ لَهُمُ اَلْمَعَالِمُ**
And You are the one who guided them when the signs became clear to them
**مَا ذَا وَجَدَ مَنْ فَقَدَكَ**
What has he found who has lost You?
**و مَا اَلَّذِي فَقَدَ مَنْ وَجَدَكَ**
And what has he lost who has found You?
**لَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ رَضِيَ دُونَكَ بَدَلاً**
Indeed, he has failed who is satisfied with anything less than You
**و لَقَدْ خَسِرَ مَنْ بَغَى عَنْكَ مُتَحَوِّلاً**
And indeed, he has lost who seeks to turn away from You
**كَيْفَ يُرْجَى سِوَاكَ**
How can anyone hope for anyone but You?
**و أَنْتَ مَا قَطَعْتَ اَلْإِحْسَانَ**
And You have never ceased to do good
**و كَيْفَ يُطْلَبُ مِنْ غَيْرِكَ**
And how can one ask from anyone but You?
**و أَنْتَ مَا بَدَّلْتَ عَادَةَ اَلاِمْتِنَانِ**
And You have not changed the habit of generosity
**يَا مَنْ أَذَاقَ أَحِبَّاءَهُ حَلاَوَةَ اَلْمُؤَانَسَةِ**
O You who have made Your lovers taste the sweetness of companionship
**فَقَامُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مُتَمَلِّقِينَ**
So they stood before Him, flattering
**و يَا مَنْ أَلْبَسَ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ مَلاَبِسَ هَيْبَتِهِ**
And O You who have clothed Your friends in the garments of Your majesty
**فَقَامُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مُسْتَغْفِرِينَ**
So they stood before Him, seeking forgiveness
**أَنْتَ اَلذَّاكِرُ قَبْلَ اَلذَّاكِرِينَ**
You are the Rememberer before the rememberers
**و أَنْتَ اَلْبَادِي بِالْإِحْسَانِ قَبْلَ تَوَجُّهِ اَلْعَابِدِينَ**
And You are the Initiator of goodness before the worshippers turn to You
**و أَنْتَ اَلْجَوَادُ بِالْعَطَاءِ قَبْلَ طَلَبِ اَلطَّالِبِينَ**
And You are the Generous in giving before the seekers ask
**و أَنْتَ اَلْوَهَّابُ**
And You are the Bestower
**ثُمَّ لِمَا وَهَبْتَ لَنَا مِنَ اَلْمُسْتَقْرِضِينَ**
Then for what You have granted us from the borrowers
**إِلَهِي اُطْلُبْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ حَتَّى أَصِلَ إِلَيْكَ**
O my God, seek me out with Your mercy until I reach You
**و اِجْذِبْنِي بِمَنِّكَ حَتَّى أُقْبِلَ عَلَيْكَ**
And draw me near with Your grace until I turn to You
**إِلَهِي إِنَّ رَجَائِي لاَ يَنْقَطِعُ عَنْكَ**
O my God, indeed, my hope does not cease from You
**و إِنْ عَصَيْتُكَ كَمَا أَنَّ خَوْفِي لاَ يُزَايِلُنِي**
And if I disobey You, as my fear does not leave me
**و إِنْ أَطَعْتُكَ فَقَدْ دَفَعَتْنِي اَلْعَوَالِمُ إِلَيْكَ**
And if I obey You, indeed, the worlds have brought me to You
**و قَدْ أَوْقَعَنِي عِلْمِي بِكَرَمِكَ عَلَيْكَ**
And my knowledge of Your generosity has made me fall to You
**إِلَهِي كَيْفَ أَخِيبُ وَ أَنْتَ أَمَلِي**
O my God, how can I fail when You are my hope?
**أَمْ كَيْفَ أُهَانُ وَ عَلَيْكَ مُتَّكَلِي**
Or how can I be humiliated when I rely on You?
**إِلَهِي كَيْفَ أَسْتَعِزُّ وَ فِي اَلذِّلَّةِ أَرْكَزْتَنِي**
O my God, how can I be dignified when You have placed me in humiliation?
**أَمْ كَيْفَ لاَ أَسْتَعِزُّ وَ إِلَيْكَ نَسَبْتَنِي**
Or how can I not be dignified when I belong to You?
**إِلَهِي كَيْفَ لاَ أَفْتَقِرُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي فِي اَلْفُقَرَاءِ أَقَمْتَنِي**
O my God, how can I not be in need when You are the one who has established me among the poor?
**أَمْ كَيْفَ أَفْتَقِرُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي بِجُودِكَ أَغْنَيْتَنِي**
Or how can I be in need when You are the one who has enriched me with Your generosity?
**و أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ تَعَرَّفْتَ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ**
And You are the one who, besides You, there is no deity, You have made Yourself known in everything
**فَمَا جَهِلَكَ شَيْءٌ**
So nothing is unaware of You
**و أَنْتَ اَلَّذِي تَعَرَّفْتَ إِلَيَّ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ**
And You are the one who has made Yourself known to me in everything
**فَرَأَيْتُكَ ظَاهِراً فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ**
So I saw You manifest in everything
**و أَنْتَ اَلظَّاهِرُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ**
And You are the manifest for everything
**يَا مَنِ اِسْتَوَى بِرَحْمَانِيَّتِهِ فَصَارَ اَلْعَرْشُ غَيْباً فِي ذَاتِهِ**
O You who have transcended with Your mercy, so the throne became hidden in Your essence
**مَحَقْتَ اَلْآثَارَ بِالْآثَارِ**
You have obliterated the traces with the traces
**و مَحَوْتَ اَلْأَغْيَارَ بِمُحِيطَاتِ أَفْلاَكِ اَلْأَنْوَارِ**
And You have erased the distractions with the encompassing orbits of the lights
**يَا مَنِ اِحْتَجَبَ فِي سُرَادِقَاتِ عَرْشِهِ عَنْ أَنْ تُدْرِكَهُ اَلْأَبْصَارُ**
O You who have concealed Yourself in the curtains of Your throne from being perceived by the sight
**يَا مَنْ تَجَلَّى بِكَمَالِ بَهَائِهِ فَتَحَقَّقَتْ عَظَمَتُهُ**
O You who have manifested with the perfection of Your beauty, so Your greatness has been realized
**اَلاِسْتِوَاءَ [مِنَ اَلاِسْتِوَاءِ]**
The exaltation (from exaltation)
**كَيْفَ تَخْفَى وَ أَنْتَ اَلظَّاهِرُ**
How can You be hidden when You are the manifest?
**أَمْ كَيْفَ تَغِيبُ وَ أَنْتَ اَلرَّقِيبُ اَلْحَاضِرُ**
Or how can You be absent when You are the ever-watchful and present?
**إِنَّكَ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ**
Indeed, You are capable of all things
**و اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَحْدَهُ**
And all praise is due to Allah alone
