**(4)** الْعَالِمُ الْجَلِيلُ الْأَوَّاهُ السَّيِّدُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ سِبْطُ الْمُحَدِّثِ الْجَزَائِرِيِّ
**The esteemed scholar, the humble one, Sayyid Abd Allah, the descendant of the Hadith scholar from Algeria**
**فِي شَرْحِ النُّخْبَةِ، قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي عِدَّةِ مَوَاضِعَ أُوَثِّقُهَا بِخَطِّ بَعْضِ الْمَشَايِخِ الَّذِينَ عَاصَرْنَاهُمْ مُرْسَلًا:**
**in the explanation of Al-Nukhba, he said, "I found in several places that I authenticate with the handwriting of some of the scholars whom we have contemporaneously known:"**
**أَنَّهُ لَمَّا رَجَعَ مَوْلَانَا زَيْنُ الْعَابِدِينَ ع مِنَ الْحَجِّ اسْتَقْبَلَهُ الشَّبْلِيُّ فَقَالَ ع لَهُ حَجَجْتَ يَا شَبْلِيُّ**
**that when our master Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him) returned from the pilgrimage, Al-Shibli greeted him and said to him, "Did you perform the Hajj, O Shibli?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ**
**He replied, "Yes, O son of the Messenger of Allah."**
**فَقَالَ ع أَ نَزَلْتَ الْمِيقَاتَ وَ تَجَرَّدْتَ عَنْ مَخِيطِ الثِّيَابِ وَ اغْتَسَلْتَ**
**He (peace be upon him) said, "Did you descend to the Miqat, remove your stitched clothing, and perform Ghusl?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ نَزَلْتَ الْمِيقَاتَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ خَلَعْتَ ثَوْبَ الْمَعْصِيَةِ وَ لَبِسْتَ ثَوْبَ الطَّاعَةِ**
**He said, "So when you descended to the Miqat, did you intend that you removed the garment of disobedience and wore the garment of obedience?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ تَجَرَّدْتَ عَنْ مَخِيطِ ثِيَابِكَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ تَجَرَّدْتَ مِنَ الرِّيَاءِ وَ النِّفَاقِ وَ الدُّخُولِ فِي الشُّبُهَاتِ**
**He said, "So when you removed your stitched clothing, did you intend that you stripped away hypocrisy, deceit, and entry into doubts?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**

**قَالَ فَحِينَ اغْتَسَلْتَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ اغْتَسَلْتَ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا وَ الذُّنُوبِ**
**He said, "So when you performed Ghusl, did you intend that you washed away your sins and transgressions?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَمَا نَزَلْتَ الْمِيقَاتَ وَ لَا تَجَرَّدْتَ عَنْ مَخِيطِ الثِّيَابِ وَ لَا اغْتَسَلْتَ**
**He said, "So you did not descend to the Miqat, nor did you remove your stitched clothing, nor did you perform Ghusl?"**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ تَنَظَّفْتَ وَ أَحْرَمْتَ وَ عَقَدْتَ بِالْحَجِّ**
**Then he said, "You cleaned yourself, entered into Ihram, and made the intention for Hajj?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ تَنَظَّفْتَ وَ أَحْرَمْتَ وَ عَقَدْتَ الْحَجَّ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ تَنَظَّفْتَ بِنُورَةِ التَّوْبَةِ الْخَالِصَةِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى**
**He said, "So when you cleaned yourself, entered into Ihram, and made the intention for Hajj, did you intend that you cleansed yourself with the light of sincere repentance to Allah, the Exalted?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ أَحْرَمْتَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ حَرَّمْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ كُلَّ مُحَرَّمٍ حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ**
**He said, "So when you entered into Ihram, did you intend that you made every prohibition that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has prohibited upon yourself?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ عَقَدْتَ الْحَجَّ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ قَدْ حَلَلْتَ كُلَّ عَقْدٍ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ**
**He said, "So when you made the intention for Hajj, did you intend that you dissolved every bond for other than Allah?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ لَهُ ع مَا تَنَظَّفْتَ وَ لَا أَحْرَمْتَ وَ لَا عَقَدْتَ الْحَجَّ**
**He said to him, "You did not clean yourself, nor did you enter into Ihram, nor did you make the intention for Hajj?"**
**قَالَ لَهُ أَ دَخَلْتَ الْمِيقَاتَ وَ صَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيِ الْإِحْرَامِ وَ لَبَّيْتَ**
**He said to him, "Did you enter the Miqat, pray the two Rak'ahs of Ihram, and pronounce the Talbiyah?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ دَخَلْتَ الْمِيقَاتَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ بِنِيَّةِ الزِّيَارَةِ**
**He said, "So when you entered the Miqat, did you intend with the intention of visiting?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ صَلَّيْتَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ تَقَرَّبْتَ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِخَيْرِ الْأَعْمَالِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ وَ أَكْبَرِ حَسَنَاتِ الْعِبَادِ**
**He said, "So when you prayed the two Rak'ahs, did you intend that you drew closer to Allah with the best of deeds from prayer and the greatest of the good deeds of the servants?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ لَبَّيْتَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ نَطَقْتَ لِلَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ بِكُلِّ طَاعَةٍ وَ صُمْتَ عَنْ كُلِّ مَعْصِيَةٍ**
**He said, "So when you pronounced the Talbiyah, did you intend that you spoke for Allah, glorified be He, with every act of obedience and abstained from every sin?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ لَهُ ع مَا دَخَلْتَ الْمِيقَاتَ وَ لَا صَلَّيْتَ وَ لَا لَبَّيْتَ**
**He said to him, "You did not enter the Miqat, nor pray, nor pronounce the Talbiyah?"**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ أَ دَخَلْتَ الْحَرَمَ وَ رَأَيْتَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَ صَلَّيْتَ**
**Then he said to him, "Did you enter the Sacred Sanctuary, see the Kaaba, and pray?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ دَخَلْتَ الْحَرَمَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ حَرَّمْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ كُلَّ غِيبَةٍ تَسْتَغِيبُهَا الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِلَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ**
**He said, "So when you entered the Sacred Sanctuary, did you intend that you prohibited upon yourself every backbiting against the Muslims from the people of the Islamic faith?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**

**In one version: "with light."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ وَصَلْتَ مَكَّةَ نَوَيْتَ بِقَلْبِكَ أَنَّكَ قَصَدْتَ اللَّهَ**
**He said, "So when you arrived in Mecca, did you intend in your heart that you sought Allah?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ ع فَمَا دَخَلْتَ الْحَرَمَ وَ لَا رَأَيْتَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَ لَا صَلَّيْتَ**
**He said (peace be upon him), "So you did not enter the Sacred Sanctuary, nor see the Kaaba, nor pray?"**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ طُفْتَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَ مَسِسْتَ الْأَرْكَانَ وَ سَعَيْتَ**
**Then he said, "Did you circumambulate the House, touch the corners, and perform Sa'i?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ ع فَحِينَ سَعَيْتَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ هَرَبْتَ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَ عَرَفَ مِنْكَ ذَلِكَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ**
**He said, "So when you performed Sa'i, did you intend that you fled to Allah, and did the Knower of the Unseen know that from you?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَمَا طُفْتَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَ لَا مَسِسْتَ الْأَرْكَانَ وَ لَا سَعَيْتَ**
**He said, "So you did not circumambulate the House, nor touch the corners, nor perform Sa'i?"**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ صَافَحْتَ الْحَجَرَ وَ وَقَفْتَ بِمَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ع وَ صَلَّيْتَ بِهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ**
**Then he said to him, "Did you touch the Black Stone and stand at the Station of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and pray two Rak'ahs there?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**فَصَاحَ ع صَيْحَةً كَادَ يُفَارِقُ الدُّنْيَا**
**Then he (peace be upon him) shouted a shout that nearly caused him to leave this world.**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ آهِ آهِ**
**Then he said, "Alas! Alas!"**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ ع مَنْ صَافَحَ الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ فَقَدْ صَافَحَ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى**
**Then he said, "Whoever touches the Black Stone has touched Allah, the Exalted."**
**فَانْظُرْ يَا مِسْكِينُ لَا تُضَيِّعْ أَجْرَ مَا عَظُمَ حُرْمَتُهُ وَ تَنْقُضِ الْمُصَافَحَةَ بِالْمُخَالَفَةِ وَ قَبْضِ الْحَرَامِ نَظِيرَ أَهْلِ الْآثَامِ**
**"So look, O poor one, do not waste the reward of what is of great sanctity, and do not nullify the touching by disobedience and the holding of what is forbidden, similar to the people of sins."**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ ع نَوَيْتَ حِينَ وَقَفْتَ عِنْدَ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ع أَنَّكَ وَقَفْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ طَاعَةٍ وَ تَخَلَّفْتَ عَنْ كُلِّ مَعْصِيَةٍ**
**Then he said, "Did you intend when you stood at the Station of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) that you stood for every act of obedience and refrained from every sin?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ فَحِينَ صَلَّيْتَ فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ بِصَلَاةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ع وَ أَرْغَمْتَ بِصَلَاتِكَ أَنْفَ الشَّيْطَانِ**
**He said, "So when you prayed two Rak'ahs there, did you intend that you prayed with the prayer of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and humiliated the devil with your prayer?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ لَهُ فَمَا صَافَحْتَ الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ وَ لَا وَقَفْتَ عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ وَ لَا**
**He said to him, "So you did not touch the Black Stone, nor did you stand at the Station?"**
**صَلَّيْتَ فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ ع لَهُ أَشْرَفْتَ عَلَى بِئْرِ زَمْزَمَ وَ شَرِبْتَ مِنْ مَائِهَا**
**Then he said to him, "Did you look at the Well of Zamzam and drink from its water?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ أَشْرَفْتَ عَلَى الطَّاعَةِ وَ غَضَضْتَ طَرْفَكَ عَنِ الْمَعْصِيَةِ**
**He said, "Did you intend that you looked towards obedience and averted your gaze from sin?"**
**قَالَ لَا**
**He replied, "No."**
**قَالَ ع فَمَا أَشْرَفْتَ عَلَيْهَا وَ لَا شَرِبْتَ مِنْ مَائِهَا**
**He said, "So you did not look at it, nor did you drink from its water?"**
**ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ ع أَ سَعَيْتَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ وَ مَشَيْتَ وَ تَرَدَّدْتَ بَيْنَهُمَا**
**Then he said to him, "Did you walk between Safa and Marwah and move back and forth between them?"**
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
**He replied, "Yes."**
**قَالَ لَهُ**
He said to him,
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ بَيْنَ الرَّجَاءِ وَ الْخَوْفِ**
You intended that you are between hope and fear.
**قَالَ لَا**
He said, "No."
**قَالَ فَمَا سَعَيْتَ وَ لَا مَشَيْتَ وَ لَا تَرَدَّدْتَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ**
He said, "Then what did you strive for, and you did not walk, nor did you hesitate between Safa and Marwah?"
**ثُمَّ قَالَ أَ خَرَجْتَ إِلَى مِنًى**
Then he said, "Did you go out to Mina?"
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
He said, "Yes."
**قَالَ نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ آمَنْتَ النَّاسَ مِنْ لِسَانِكَ وَ قَلْبِكَ وَ يَدِكَ**
He said, "You intended that you secured the people with your tongue, your heart, and your hand."
**قَالَ لَا**
He said, "No."
**قَالَ فَمَا خَرَجْتَ إِلَى مِنًى**
He said, "Then you did not go out to Mina."
**ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ أَ وَقَفْتَ الْوَقْفَةَ بِعَرَفَةَ**
Then he said to him, "Did you stand at the standing place in Arafat?"
**وَ طَلَعْتَ جَبَلَ الرَّحْمَةِ**
"And did you ascend the Mount of Mercy?"
**وَ عَرَفْتَ وَادِيَ نَمِرَةَ**
"And did you recognize the valley of Namira?"
**وَ دَعَوْتَ اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ عِنْدَ الْمِيلِ وَ الْجَمَرَاتِ**
"And did you call upon Allah, the Exalted, at the Mil and the Jamrat?"
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
He said, "Yes."
**قَالَ هَلْ عَرَفْتَ بِمَوْقِفِكَ بِعَرَفَةَ مَعْرِفَةَ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ**
He said, "Did you recognize your standing in Arafat as knowing Allah, the Exalted?"
**أَمْرَ الْمَعَارِف وَ الْعُلُومِ**
"The matter of knowledge and sciences?"
**وَ عَرَفْتَ قَبْضَ اللَّهِ عَلَى صَحِيفَتِكَ وَ اطِّلَاعَهُ عَلَى سَرِيرَتِكَ وَ قَلْبِكَ**
"And did you know of Allah's grasp on your record and His knowledge of your secrets and your heart?"
**قَالَ لَا**
He said, "No."
**قَالَ نَوَيْتَ بِطُلُوعِكَ جَبَلَ الرَّحْمَةِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْحَمُ كُلَّ مُؤْمِنٍ**
He said, "You intended by your ascent to the Mount of Mercy that Allah has mercy on every believer, man ..."
**وَ مُؤْمِنَةٍ**
"And every believer woman."
**وَ يَتَوَلَّى كُلَّ مُسْلِمٍ وَ مُسْلِمَةٍ**
"And He takes care of every Muslim and Muslimah."
**قَالَ لَا**
He said, "No."
**قَالَ فَنَوَيْتَ عِنْدَ نَمِرَةَ أَنَّكَ لَا تَأْمُرُ حَتَّى تَأْتَمِرَ**
He said, "Then you intended at Namira that you do not command until you are commanded."
**وَلَا تَزْجُرُ حَتَّى تَنْزَجِرَ**
"And do not prohibit until you are prohibited."
**قَالَ لَا**
He said, "No."
**قَالَ فَعِنْدَ مَا وَقَفْتَ عِنْدَ الْعَلَمِ وَ النَّمِرَاتِ**
He said, "Then when you stood at the flag and the namirats,"
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّهَا شَاهِدَةٌ لَكَ عَلَى الطَّاعَاتِ**
"You intended that they are witnesses for you on acts of obedience,"
**حَافِظَةٌ لَكَ مَعَ الْحَفَظَةِ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ**
"And they preserve you along with the guardians by the command of the Lord of the heavens."
**قَالَ لَا**
He said, "No."
**قَالَ فَمَا وَقَفْتَ بِعَرَفَةَ وَ لَا طَلَعْتَ جَبَلَ الرَّحْمَةِ**
He said, "Then you did not stand at Arafat, nor did you ascend the Mount of Mercy."
**وَلَا عَرَفْتَ نَمِرَةَ وَ لَا دَعَوْتَ وَ لَا وَقَفْتَ عِنْدَ النَّمِرَاتِ**
"And you did not recognize Namira, nor did you call upon Allah, nor did you stand at the namirats."
**ثُمَّ قَالَ مَرَرْتَ بَيْنَ الْعَلَمَيْنِ**
Then he said, "You passed between the two flags,"
**وَ صَلَّيْتَ قَبْلَ مُرُورِكَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ**
"And you prayed two rak'ahs before passing."
**وَ مَشَيْتَ بِمُزْدَلِفَةَ**
"And you walked in Muzdalifah,"
**وَ لَقَطْتَ فِيهَا الْحَصَى**
"And you collected pebbles there."
**وَ مَرَرْتَ بِالْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ**
"And you passed by Al-Mash'ar Al-Haram."
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
He said, "Yes."
**قَالَ فَحِينَ صَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ**
He said, "Then when you prayed two rak'ahs,"
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّهَا صَلَاةُ شُكْرٍ**
*You intended that it is a prayer of gratitude*
**فِي لَيْلَةِ عَشْرٍ**
*on the night of ten*
**تَنْفِي كُلَّ عُسْرٍ**
*that removes all hardship*
**وَ تُيَسِّرُ كُلَّ يُسْرٍ**
*and facilitates every ease.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا مَشَيْتَ بَيْنَ الْعَلَمَيْنِ**
*So when you walked between the two markers*
**وَ لَمْ تَعْدِلْ عَنْهُمَا يَمِيناً وَ شِمَالًا**
*and did not deviate from them to the right or left*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنْ لَا تَعْدِلَ عَنْ دِينِ الْحَقِّ**
*you intended not to deviate from the religion of truth*
**يَمِيناً وَ شِمَالًا**
*to the right or left*
**لَا بِقَلْبِكَ وَ لَا بِلِسَانِكَ وَ لَا بِجَوَارِحِكَ**
*neither with your heart, nor with your tongue, nor with your limbs.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا مَشَيْتَ بِمُزْدَلِفَةَ**
*So when you walked in Muzdalifah*
**وَ لَقَطْتَ مِنْهَا الْحَصَى**
*and collected the pebbles from it*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ رَفَعْتَ عَنْكَ كُلَّ مَعْصِيَةٍ**
*you intended that you lifted from yourself every sin*
**وَ جَهْلٍ**
*and ignorance*
**وَ ثَبَّتَّ كُلَّ عِلْمٍ وَ عَمَلٍ**
*and you established every knowledge and action.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا مَرَرْتَ بِالْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ**
*So when you passed by the sacred monument*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ أَشْعَرْتَ قَلْبَكَ**
*you intended that you made your heart aware*
**إِشْعَارَ أَهْلِ التَّقْوَى وَ الْخَوْفَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ**
*of the awareness of the people of piety and fear of Allah, the Exalted and Majestic.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَمَا مَرَرْتَ بِالْعَلَمَيْنِ**
*So you did not pass by the two markers*
**وَ لَا صَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ**
*and you did not pray two rak'ahs*
**وَ لَا مَشَيْتَ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ**
*and you did not walk in Muzdalifah*
**وَ لَا رَفَعْتَ مِنْهَا الْحَصَى**
*and you did not collect the pebbles from it*
**وَ لَا مَرَرْتَ بِالْمَشْعَرِ الْحَرَامِ**
*and you did not pass by the sacred monument.*

**ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ**
*Then he said to him*
**وَصَلْتَ مِنًى**
*You arrived at Mina*
**وَ رَمَيْتَ الْجَمْرَةَ**
*and you threw the stones at the jamrah*
**وَ حَلَقْتَ رَأْسَكَ**
*and you shaved your head*
**وَ ذَبَحْتَ هَدْيَكَ**
*and you sacrificed your offering*
**وَ صَلَّيْتَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ**
*and you prayed in the Mosque of Al-Khayf*
**وَ رَجَعْتَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ**
*and you returned to Mecca*
**وَ طُفْتَ طَوَافَ الْإِفَاضَةِ**
*and you performed the Tawaf of Ifadah.*
**قَالَ نَعَمْ**
*He said yes*
**قَالَ فَنَوَيْتَ عِنْدَ مَا وَصَلْتَ مِنًى**
*He said, then you intended when you arrived at Mina*
**وَ رَمَيْتَ الْجِمَارَ**
*and threw the stones*
**أَنَّكَ بَلَغْتَ إِلَى مَطْلَبِكِ**
*that you have reached your goal*
**وَ قَدْ قَضَى رَبُّكَ لَكَ كُلَّ حَاجَتِكَ**
*and your Lord has fulfilled for you all your needs.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا رَمَيْتَ الْجِمَارَ**
*So when you threw the stones*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ رَمَيْتَ عَدُوَّكَ إِبْلِيسَ**
*you intended that you threw at your enemy, Iblis*
**وَ غَضِبْتَهُ بِتَمَامِ حَجِّكَ النَّفِيسِ**
*and you angered him with the completion of your precious Hajj.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا حَلَقْتَ رَأْسَكَ**
*So when you shaved your head*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ تَطَهَّرْتَ مِنَ الْأَدْنَاسِ**
*you intended that you purified yourself from impurities*
**وَ مِنْ تَبِعَةِ بَنِي آدَمَ**
*and from the burdens of the children of Adam*
**وَ خَرَجْتَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ كَمَا وَلَدَتْكَ أُمُّكَ**
*and you emerged from sins as if your mother had given birth to you.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ**
*So when you prayed in the Mosque of Al-Khayf*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ لَا تَخَافُ إِلَّا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ**
*you intended that you fear no one but Allah, the Exalted and Majestic*
**وَ ذَنْبَكَ**
*and your sin*
**وَلَا تَرْجُو إِلَّا رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى**
*and you hope for nothing but the mercy of Allah, the Most High.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا ذَبَحْتَ هَدْيَكَ**
*So when you sacrificed your offering*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ ذَبَحْتَ حَنْجَرَةَ الطَّمَعِ**
*you intended that you slaughtered the throat of greed*
**بِمَا تَمَسَّكْتَ بِهِ مِنْ حَقِيقَةِ الْوَرَعِ**
*with what you hold onto of the truth of piety*
**وَ أَنَّكَ اتَّبَعْتَ سُنَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ع بِذَبْحِ وَلَدِهِ**
*and that you followed the Sunnah of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) by sacrificing his son*
**وَ ثَمَرَةِ فُؤَادِهِ وَ رَيْحَانِ قَلْبِهِ**
*and the fruit of his heart and the sweet basil of his heart*
**وَ حَاجَّهُ سُنَّتُهُ لِمَنْ بَعْدَهُ**
*and his Sunnah for those who come after him*
**وَ قَرَّبَهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى لِمَنْ خَلْفَهُ**
*and brought him closer to Allah, the Most High, for those who follow him.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ**
*He said no, he said*
**فَعِنْدَ مَا رَجَعْتَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ**
*So when you returned to Mecca*
**وَ طُفْتَ طَوَافَ الْإِفَاضَةِ**
*and performed the Tawaf of Ifadah*
**نَوَيْتَ أَنَّكَ أَفَضْتَ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى**
*you intended that you poured forth from the mercy of Allah, the Most High*
**وَ رَجَعْتَ إِلَى طَاعَتِهِ**
*and you returned to His obedience*
**وَ تَمَسَّكْتَ بِوُدِّهِ**
*and you held onto His love*
**وَ أَدَّيْتَ فَرَائِضَهُ**
*and you fulfilled His obligations*
**وَ تَقَرَّبْتَ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى**
*and you drew near to Allah, the Most High.*
**قَالَ لَا قَالَ لَهُ زَيْنُ الْعَابِدِينَ ع**
*He said no, then Imam Zain ul Abidin - the Beuty of the worshippers (peace be upon him), said to him*
**فَمَا وَصَلْتَ مِنًى**
*So you did not arrive at Mina*
**وَ لَا رَمَيْتَ الْجِمَارَ**
*and you did not throw the stones*
**وَ لَا حَلَقْتَ رَأْسَكَ**
*and you did not shave your head*
**وَ لَا أَدَّيْتَ نُسُكَكَ**
*and you did not fulfill your rituals*
**وَ لَا صَلَّيْتَ فِي**
*and you did not pray in...*
- مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ
**The Mosque of Al-Khayf**
- وَ لَا طُفْتَ طَوَافَ الْإِفَاضَةِ
**And you did not perform the Tawaf of Ifadah**
- وَ لَا تَقَرَّبْتَ
**And you did not approach**
- ارْجِعْ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَحُجَّ
**Go back, for you have not performed Hajj**
- فَطَفِقَ الشِّبْلِيُّ يَبْكِي عَلَى مَا فَرَّطَهُ فِي حَجِّهِ
**So the young man began to cry over what he had missed in his Hajj**
- وَ مَا زَالَ يَتَعَلَّمُ حَتَّى حَجَّ مِنْ قَابِلٍ
**And he continued to learn until he performed Hajj the following year**
- بِمَعْرِفَةٍ وَ يَقِينٍ
**With knowledge and certainty**
- انْتَهَى
